Junior pitcher Jamie Potts is a returning all-stater who will lead Oakridge in its quest to return to the Final Four in Battle Creek. The Oakridge Eagles have the targets on their backs this baseball season.

Last year, Oakridge advanced to the Division 3 state semifinals before bowing out in a loss to state-power Blissfield.

Leading the way are returning all-stater Jamie Potts, senior outfielder Buddy Burns, infielder-pitcher Koburn Patino and No. 2 pitcher Nick Eely.

Oakridge coach Brandon Barry plans to keep the bar high again this season.

“Our goals are to challenge for the WMC league title and make another run to Battle Creek,’’ Barry noted. “I’m looking forward to working with a very dedicated and motivated group of quality young men. Our opportunity to get to Battle Creek last year has focused our players with an ‘unfinished business’ attitude.’’

Shelby, Whitehall and Ravenna are expected to challenge Oakridge for league honors.
